met with a couple other contractors and I had the best feeling about Ramon. He came out right away and took a look at my kitchen and was there a couple days later taking measurements. I had some ideas in mind , but with his knowledge and creativity, he filled in the blanks for me. His crew completed a full kitchen remodel for us and even a couple little extras here and there at no additional cost. Ramon stopped by very regularly to check on the progress and the work was completed in the timeline given. They even were able to start ahead of schedule. I have received so many compliments on my kitchen so far and I'm just in love with it.

We used Velarde Builders to expand our backyard patio concrete deck by 500 sf. Due to this being a "smaller" job, we got very few answers to requests for bids and when we did, it was a very unprofessional bid. However, Ramon Velarde provided a professional bid with drawings/pictures and full scope of work with a progress payment schedule. Their workmanship was excellent and their workers were courteous. We didn't know what to expect when we began seeking bids for our first home remodel. I read articles about what Homeowners should know and be aware of when looking for a contractor. That they are licensed and accredited is a must, and that they have an excellent reputation and have extensive references should go without saying.

Based on the advice that we gathered, and with our stamped plans in hand, we set out to look for a professional and established company. We took a total of 5 bids from different companies. At the last minute, a friend of mine mentioned that her family was in the construction business and we decided it wouldn't hurt to see what they had to offer.

When we met with Ramon Velarde, a young, easygoing yet very professional guy, we were impressed by his extensive knowledge of construction and professionalism. We were really excited about working with him, based on our first meeting. After considering everything, even the fact that it was a recently established company, we decided to give them a try. As our project is winding down to the last week of work, it becomes clearer that we made the best choice in choosing Velarde Builders for our home addition/remodel/renovation.

For the past two months, we have shared our home with Velarde Builders; they have accommodated us as much as possible while they work on our house. We have come to know some of the crew quite well. Though a young company, the key craftsmen and specialists that have been on-site have quite an extensive resume and some 20+ years of experience in home construction. The crew is professional, efficient, hard-working, and helpful.

We had quite a load of work done to our 1920's home: a complete electrical re-wiring, retrofitting of all existing plumbing, re-patching existing floor base, and not to mention an addition of almost 600sqft, including two bedrooms and a full master bathroom. Not only was the price right for us, but Ramon kept our budget in mind and he never upsold anything; he was able to give us all the small details we wanted while assuring us that our budget wouldn't be compromised. It is evident that he really cares about the bigger picture and it is clear that he believes in keeping his customers stress-free and happy with their home. He takes great pride in the company's work. He assures us, after each meeting, that he wants us to be happy with the outcome. Further, he makes himself available and always answers calls or texts promptly, no matter what he is doing.

Though we may not know much about construction, we know what it feels like to be in good hands with a company that has your best interest and satisfaction in mind. This was quite an experience from day 1, one that I will never forget due to the gratitude I feel towards Ramon Velarde and the great crew for their expertise, kindness, and above all exemplary professionalism.
